“Nearly seven years ago, Leah & Josh introduced me to CrossFit and healthy eating. They have helped me achieve goals I never thought possible for a middle aged, overweight gal. The excellent coaching, encouragement, and accountability from the staff has made all the difference in my progress. I have had the pleasure of competing with fellow athletes both at our facility and throughout the state. More importantly, the community of people at Five Alarm CrossFit have become some of my most treasured relationships.”

“Seven years ago, I had herniated two discs in my lower back and doctors asked me not to workout or lift any weights. I had gone through physiotherapy for years and seen six different chiropractors in town to get better and live pain free. I was only thinking about bodybuilding/muscle building before joining CrossFit, and had frequent back issues. Doctors suggested that I should never squat or deadlift.
CrossFit workouts helped strengthen my core, and I am now living a better life than the last seven years. I’ve also seen improved performance in the sports I participate in.
Thanks to the Five Alarm community for providing such a nice space to enjoy workouts and spend a good one hour of my day. It’s never a boring day at Five Alarm CrossFit. The coaches and athletes are always awesome. Thank you all.”

“Where to start with this… this gym… wait, that’s not the right word… this community is one of the best I have ever been a part of. When I first joined, I was a little creeped out by how often people hugged each other. Strangers would hug me, asking how I was doing, and actually cared about me. After over a year of being a member, I now realize it’s not a gym… and maybe community isn’t even the right word… it’s a family.
For Drop-Ins or people looking for a gym, this is the best gym you will find in the Bloomington-Normal area, both competitively speaking and equipment wise. The owners are two of the nicest people you will meet and the members are incredibly welcoming. Heck, you might even get a hug too on your first drop in.
I can’t finish this review without a “The Office” quote, so: “The dictionary defines ‘superlative’ as: of the highest kind, quality, or order, surpassing all else, or others. Supreme.” I define it as Five Alarm CrossFit. As a gym, as a hangout spot, as a community, and as a family, it is of the highest kind, quality, and order. Supreme.”
